The Thinking Behind SD&P

SD&P development programs drive performance for sales professionals and sales businesses. Our programs are based on the groundbreaking work of Dr. K. Anders Ericsson, a psychology scholar who is a professor at Florida State University. His research on the acquisition of expert (superior) performance over the last 20 years has provided valuable insights to many of the “secrets” of superior performance.

Dr. Ericsson and his colleague’s work has supported the theory that a unique form of practice called "deliberate practice"  is primarily responsible for expert level performance.

SD&P has consulted with Dr. Ericsson on the development of our sales blueprint learning system as well as much of our curriculum at the Sales Development Academy. As a result, we have created a unique sales development program that features “deliberate practice."

Our development programs are based on 30 years of empircal research on the acquisition of expert performance. This research has provided valuable insights to many of the “secrets” of superior performance.

One of the primary contributions of the expert performance research is that superior performance it is not solely the result of natural innate ability but more derived from a unique form of practice called “Deliberate Practice.” Deliberate Practice is a unique training method specifically designed to increase performance.

SD&P has incorporated these superior performance principles as part of our performance consulting processes. As a result, we have created a unique sales development program that features deliberate practice training activities.
